Infrared luminescence and amplification properties of Bi-doped GeO2−Ga2O3−Al2O3 glasses

摘要: Bi, Ga, and Al codoped germanium glass was prepared its optical properties were investigated by absorption, photoluminescence excitation (PLE), spectra. Two active centers which occupy strong weak crystal field environment are identified using the PLE spectrum. The tunable ultrabroadband luminescence originated from electron transitions of these two centers. Internal gain around 1300 1560 nm has been detected. wavelength-dependent internal gains excited with 808 980 laser diodes show different characteristics, relative flat amplification can be realized choosing pumping.
