Dermatophyte infections in the Ljubljana region, Slovenia, 1995–2002

摘要: We studied dermatophyte infections in patients, examined the Mycological Laboratory of Department Dermatology, University Medical Centre Ljubljana during period 1995-2002. A total 42,494 samples were collected from 33,974 patients suspected to have dermatomycosis. Dermatophytes identified 8286 (71.2%) positive cultures. Microsporum canis was most frequent isolated (46.8%), followed by Trichophyton rubrum (36.7%), T. mentagrophytes var. interdigitale (7.9%) and (4.9%). Less frequently M. gypseum, verrucosum, Epidermophyton floccosum, tonsurans violaceum. The common included tinea corporis, onychomycosis, pedis faciei. Zoophilic dermatophytes commonly recovered children adolescents with capitis, corporis Anthropophilic species mostly adults pedis, onychomycosis inguinalis. During studied, we recorded a decline rate infections, while produced increased frequency.
