Perceived Social Health Benefits Among Participants in a Countywide Senior Chair Volleyball Program

摘要: ABSTRACT This study examined older adults' (≥ 55 years of age) perceived social health benefits associated with participating in a county-wide chair volleyball program. Of the 300 individuals who had participated program, 222 completed 22-item survey on their (74% response rate). Results indicated that largest were program provides them challenging activity, makes feel like they are part group, and helps make new friends. Females those very/extremely competitive felt participation was significantly more beneficial to than did males somewhat/not competitive. Findings illustrate positive effects can have adults.
