摘要: Abstract This paper explores the changing relationship between ‘nature’ and rurality through an examination of shifting iconography animals, particularly ‘wild’ in a rural setting. Drawing upon set examples, argues that faunistic icons areas are evolving as alternative conceptions countryside, nature classic dichotomy ‘domesticated’ animals being re-constructed. The re-introduction wild species, either deliberate strategies or natural migration, diversification husbandry to include rare protected breeds increasing number reported sightings strange unfamiliar all point change, changes, place accorded things countryside have become, themselves, domesticated gentrified.
