摘要: The incidence of infectious diseases affecting the central nervous system (CNS) has been increasing over last several years. Among reasons for expansion these and appearance new neuropathogens are globalization, global warming, increased proximity between humans wild animals due to human activities such as deforestation. Neurotropism normal brain function is shared by organisms viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites. Neuroinfections caused agents activate immune responses, inducing neuroinflammation, excitotoxicity, neurodegeneration. Purinergic signaling an evolutionarily conserved pathway associated with neuropathologies. During neuroinfections, host cells release ATP extracellular danger signal pro-inflammatory activities. metabolized its derivatives ectonucleotidases CD39 CD73; metabolites modulate neuronal mechanisms through P1 P2 purinergic receptors that involved in pathophysiological neuroinfections. In this review we discuss beneficial or deleterious effects various components affect CNS, including immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection, herpes simplex type 1 (HSV-1) bacterial meningitis, sepsis, cryptococcosis, toxoplasmosis, malaria. We also provide a description emerging viral infections neurological implications Zika SARS-CoV-2.
