摘要: The aim of this work was to produce pellets using a standard formulation by means extrusion and spheronization. Three different spheroniser friction plate patterns (i.e. cross-hatch, radial, striated edge pattern) have been used in order investigate whether the pattern affects physical properties such as pellet size distribution, yield, shape, mechanical strength, density drug dissolution. Extrusion performed with screen extruder varied determine extrudate produced could affect pellets. load also varied. Diclofenac sodium chosen model drug. spheronization extrudates affected Yield values up 20%, for an otherwise optimised use appeared advantageous respect. However, these had reduced strength despite their lower porosity, which might be disadvantageous. In addition, other factors amount loaded into spheroniser, maintenance constant moisture content within influenced findings significantly. only property that did not respond various changes manufacturing process is remained spherical. dissolution related median marginally process.
