摘要: The ultrasonically assisted preparation and characterization of poly(amide-imide) (PAI) composites containing functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are reported. To improve the dispersion in compatibility with polymer matrix, MWCNTs were surface-modified p-aminophenol (p-AP) under microwave irradiation. process is fast, one-pot, easy results a high degree functionalization as well dispersibility organic solvents. p-AP-functionalized (MWCNTs-AP) analysed by means field emission transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). consistently confirm formation p-AP functionalities on which able to undergo additional reactions, while structure remains relatively intact. MWCNTs-AP/PAI hybrid films prepared various MWCNTs-AP contents (5–15 wt%) using solution-casting technique. Microscopic observations show that improved result groups MWCNT surface functional PAI structure. properties obtained characterized extensively aforementioned techniques. TGA exhibit good thermal stability. Tensile mechanical testing was performed for composites, indicate an increase elastic modulus tensile strength increasing content. © 2013 Society Chemical Industry
