摘要: Introduction Although drivers of agricultural vehicles (AVs) mainly use minor rural roads, it is not always possible for them to avoid arterial highways (two-lane roads with one carriageway and forbidden bicycles mopeds). These are designed large volumes through motorized traffic high speeds. A slow-moving relatively heavy AV an “intruder’’ here because creates safety risks delays other drivers. In order reduce these problems, measures separate on should be considered if re-routing the AVs along impossible. Several separating measures, such as paved or sealed shoulders (Brannolte 1989; Ogden 1997) extra (climbing) lanes (TRB 1994) parallel (Wegman 1997), have recently been proposed. However, already in 1965, US “Highway Capacity Manual” mentioned passing bay (PB) a measure AVs. PB third lane that runs over short distance, directly beside exclusively obliged give from platoon opportunity pass. At time recommendation, general criteria application PBs “cannot given; each case needs analysed separately, strategic location bays highly important” (HRB 1965: p. 100). Later elaborations focus improving level service alternatives climbing summer recreational routes (Voyer 1998). Jaarsma et al. (2005) investigated impacts delay manoeuvres road users. Their study covers current practice most European countries, where cannot some considerable simultaneously cause specific problems there. The aim this paper present small scale alternative separation mixed flows illustrate its effectiveness reducing risks.
