摘要: Abstract Tetra-2,6-dimethyl phenyl resorcinol diphosphate (DMP-RDP), which is one of the phosphorus flame retardants exhibiting higher evaporation temperature, and novolac phenol resin (NP) were employed to investigate whether synergistic effect using them together could be observed on retardance ABS. For this purpose, various NPs incorporated into DMP-RDP as co-flame a series ABS/DMP-RDP/NP compounds manufactured their retardancies evaluated by measuring limiting oxygen index (LOI) values UL-94V classes. The results showed that incorporation DMP-RDP/NP mixture very effective in enhancing thermal stability ABS LOI value high 53 obtained for certain formulation. reason finding was believed originated from crosslinking reaction between –OH NP and –OH generated combustion DMP-RDP. Some direct evidences FTIR experiments presented. Moreover, optical microscopy analysis formation intumescent chars dense. molecular weight also discussed.
