摘要: Patch testing with the baseline series may detect only 40–70% of responsible allergens in diagnosis contact dermatitis. Using additional commercially available test will another 25% relevant allergens. Only about 10% be recognized, if patient´s own materials are patch tested. In this chapter, detailed guidelines for various products given: cosmetics (leave on and wash-off type), hair dressing, disinfecting agents, clothing, plants, construction materials, metal working fluids etc. The concentration is crucial, because some these irritants even cause necrotic reactions, tested undiluted. Before testing, information chemistry, pH, toxicity, sensitization properties should obtained. A semi-open without occlusion helpful irritant potential. dilution series, control informed volunteers, repeated open application tests have frequently identified new occupations contacting skin daily life.
