摘要: The isolation of faecal streptococci from the excreta man, cattle and sheep was investigated. methods compared were (a) heat, (b) tetrathionate, (c) tellurite, (d) thallium salts. tellurite method proved highly efficient, isolating 97% strains human, cow faeces. A survey properties isolated made. Differential tests based on heat resistance (i) reducing devised; these divided by into groups, some which characteristic source. information available seems capable distinguishing many obtained man those derived cows or sheep, it is suggested may be use in tracing sources pollution water, milk other foodstuffs.
