Impacts of Plant Breeders Rights on Rice Seed Prices and Variety Adoption in China

摘要: China passed its plant variety protection act(PVPA) in 1997 and it has effects on Chinese breeds market new technologies adoption of farmers,which causes extensive concern the academic circles.We use a system model to study impact PVPA seed prices planted area for variety.We find out that protected varieties have higher than unprotected varieties.In applying stage,PVP doesn't show much price,but lead 33% decrease at same time.After species acquires authorization,the price will increase 1.63 yuan/kg,but area.
