摘要: Currently there are four operating near-UV imaging space telescopes, one of which is the Swift Ultra-Violet/Optical Telescope (UVOT). Although UVOT was primarily built for observations γ-ray bursts, it has become a powerful instrument studying other types UV and optical astronomical phenomena. Here we discuss properties UVOT, summarize some science undertaken with present possible goals that have not yet been pursued. We also lessons learned apply to future telescopes.
