摘要: The current studies examined whether cytokine patterns indicative of an imbalance in Th1 and Th2 cells could be identified PBMC patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA). To investigate this possibility, a reproducible PCR technique to assess mRNA levels was employed that minimized vitro manipulation the cells. Seven 14 RA had increased for IL-2, 5/14 IFN-gamma, 3/14 IL-4, 4/14 IL-2R alpha-chain, compared normal donors. Whereas 4 elevated IL-2 increase activated or Th0 cells, 1 expressed low IFN-gamma high IL-4 mRNA. were treated mAb ICAM-1 (CD54). determine changes might associated and/or account anti-inflammatory effect anti-ICAM-1 therapy, assessed correlated clinical improvement. Anti-ICAM-1 administration followed by prompt transient Elevation expression throughout treatment period reflected temporary number circulating CD3+CD4+ T suggestive altered circulatory Th1-like related efficacy. results indicate characteristic can detected and, furthermore, may beneficial altering recruitment into synovium. This assumption further strengthens hypothesis significant contribution pathogenesis RA.
