摘要: Adenosine deaminase activity (ADA) determination in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is considered a specific test for the diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis. In order to study variability this marker patients with different neurological disorders associated HIV infection, and its utility meningitis these patients, ADA levels 417 CSF samples from HIV-infected symptoms were reviewed. HIV-associated disorders, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy not elevated CSF. Among meningitis, receiver operating characteristic curve analysis gave an optimal cut-off point 8.5 IU/l 57% sensitivity, 87% specificity, area under 0.747 (similar that glucose concentration). False-positive results found CMV disease cryptococcal, lymphomatous, probable candidal The indicate has limited patients.
