摘要: In adult mice of the C57BL/6J strain projection visual field was systematically mapped under direct vision. As in other vertebrate species nasal (anterior) projected anterolaterally, and inferior posterolaterally. Values magnification-1 (m-1, or degrees per millimeter tectal surface) were calculated over most tectum, for measurements coronal sagittal planes. Whereas m-1 fairly constant measurement pairs planes, planes there a rather large, elongated, horizontally oriented area upper vision within which smaller than elsewhere. this anisotropic, with ratio almost 2:1 between previously study we had observed that many cells recorded deeper layers responded to somatosensory stimulation, whiskers especially conspicuous. given penetration perpendicular surface, receptive fields tectum always concerned group those parts body crossed regions represented superficial directly above. Given information on coordinates associated certain fields, detailed mapping onto made it possible prepare map tectum. The resulting representation differed markedly from maps described classic pathway. dictated by visual-field peripheral tactile innervation density. Whiskers thus featured much more prominently structures close eye, such as pinna cheek, receive tail hindpaws.
