The effect of stacking sequence of carbon epoxy composite laminates on pinned-joint strength

摘要: Abstract In this paper, an experimental study regarding the determination of safe as well maximum bearing strengths a pinned-joint carbon epoxy composite laminate with [0°/45°/−45°/90°]S and [90°/45°/−45°/0°]S stacking sequences is presented. The experiments are carried out according to ASTM D953 standard. ratio distance from pin centre top edge diameter (E/D), specimen width (W/D) were systematically varied during experiments. orientation found be stronger when compared [0°/45°/−45°/90]S by up 12% 20% in terms strengths, respectively. Additionally, for E/D⩾4 W/D⩾4, both configurations reach their upper limit strengths.
