摘要: This essay challenges fundamental, silo-oriented assumptions about the IS discipline. It shows how work system theory and its extensions form a potential basis for overcoming that silo-orientation finding exploiting areas of overlap with other disciplines. Within discipline, this paper WST provide thinking differently fundamental topics including following: as system-related usage, sociotechnical systems, planned emergent change in development systems analysis design, user participation IS/IT projects, attaining value from IT, success, business/IT alignment, theories body knowledge IS. also directions toward synergies possible collaborations disciplines build on overlap.
