摘要: Healthcare robots enable practices that seemed far-fetched in the past. Robots might be solution to bridge loneliness elderly often experience; they may help wheelchair users walk again, or navigate blind. European Institutions, however, acknowledge human contact is an essential aspect of personal care and insertion could dehumanize caring practices. Such instances human–robot interactions raise question what extent use development for healthcare applications can challenge dignity users. In this article, therefore, we explore how different robot domain support individuals achieving ‘dignity’ pressure it. We argue since are novel, their associated risks impacts unprecedented unknown, thus triggering need a conceptual instrument binding remains flexible at same time. respect, as safety rules data protection criticized lack flexibility, technology ethics enforceability, suggest overarching governance robotics, which inviolable value upon all fundamental rights grounded.
