摘要: Ghrelin is a multifunctional peptide hormone which stimulates appetite and regulates glucose metabolism adipogenesis. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether ghrelin has protective effects in the liver streptozocin (STZ) diabetic rats or not. Wistar-type neonatal were divided into four groups: I. Controls, II. administrated controls, III. STZ-diabetic rats, IV. rats. On second day after birth, 100 mg/kg STZ administered intraperitoneally single dose induce diabetes 100 µg/kg/day subcutaneously for 4 weeks. administration improved histopathologic changes liver. Obestatin immunoreactivity been shown livers obestatin increased decline observed Caspase 8 3 immunoreactivities rats; however, differently affected caspases immunoreactivities. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen decreased Serum alanine (P < 0.05) aspartate transaminase (P < 0.0001) serum alkaline phosphatase activities compared Gamma glutamyl transferase activity (P < 0.001) response antioxidants including glutathione levels, catalase superoxide dismutase altered Our findings indicate that affects hepatic functions might be considered as therapeutic agent.
