摘要: RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES The ability to detect small liver metastases was evaluated with both gadolinium Gd BOPTA and HP-DO3A on high-field (1.5 tesla [T]) magnetic resonance (MR) imaging using a rabbit tumor model. METHODS Five New Zealand White rabbits metastatic disease (VX-2 adenocarcinoma) were imaged 1.5 T Siemens Vision MR system. Magnetic studies obtained in each animal days 8 9 after implantation. Each studied twice, once injection of 0.3 mmol/kg (gadoteridol or ProHance) 0.1 (gadobenate dimeglumine MultiHance). order for the two agents randomized any one separated by 24 hours allow clearance. image acquisition performed all cases suspended respiration. Baseline two-dimensional FLASH T1-weighted turbo-spin echo T2-weighted scans acquired first. contrast then administered as an intravenous bolus. at 1, 5, 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes administration 15 HP-DO3A. killed completion imaging, their removed taken veterinarian University's diagnostic laboratory lesion confirmation. RESULTS Despite precontrast scans, lesions could not be identified certainty four five animals study. Normal signal intensity increased from 895 +/- 17 peak 1384 50 1 minute administration. After administration, normal 899 105 1433 76 minutes. Liver enhancement thereafter decreased gradually 1297 84 resulted parenchymal enhancement, which statistically superior (P < 0.01) minute, different 5 minutes, inferior 0.02) From region interest measurements, detectability compared T1- values: 0.03- 0.005). Lesion maximum 30 postcontrast (15.2 4.5), markedly that (5.7 5.0) (7.2 1.5). On masked film review case set, no noted prospectively scans. Lesions well visualized 45 set read masked, only films available inspection. An additional feature (used dose mmol/kg), distinction those diminished hepatic vessels. CONCLUSIONS Using model, (diameter, 2-4 mm) delayed These diagnosed images. In detected early dynamic post-contrast high-dose
