摘要: Understanding the determinants of changes in welfare caseloads is an important, but little studied, topic Australia. This paper evaluates role labour market conditions explaining Australian caseload since late 1990s. The employs a stock-flow approach to better control for persistence receipt and includes different specifications deal with measurement error data. results suggest that important determinant movements on off welfare, accounting majority decline during 1997-2005. also highlight importance robustness checks when data are measured error.
