Plexciton Dynamics: Exciton−Plasmon Coupling in a J-Aggregate−Au Nanoshell Complex Provides a Mechanism for Nonlinearity

摘要: Coherently coupled plasmons and excitons give rise to new optical excitations- plexcitons − due the strong coupling of these two oscillator systems. Time-resolved studies J-aggregate-Au nanoshell complexes when plasmon J-aggregate exciton energies are degenerate probe dynamical behavior this system. Transient absorption interacting plasmon-exciton system is observed, in dramatic contrast photoinduced transmission pristine J-aggregate. An additional, transient Fano-shaped modulation within Fano dip also observable. The complex described by a combined one-exciton two-exciton state model plasmon.
