Pesticides in the Nation's Streams and Ground Water, 1992-2001

摘要: Water samples collected from 1992 through 2001 186 streams and rivers 5,047 wells in 51 of the nation's major river basins aquifer systems were summarized to provide most comprehensive national-scale analysis pesticide occurrence date. At least one was detected water all studied, at more than 90 percent time draining agricultural, urban, or mixed land uses. Pesticides less common groundwater streams, but 50 sampled shallow beneath agricultural urban areas. About one-third deeper sampled, which tap aquifers used for supply, contained pesticides degradates.
