摘要: We compared trapping and kill efficiency, by-catch rate of a new reverse-bait trigger rat trap (Ka Mate) with conventional snap traps (Ezeset Victor), assessed methods for calculating abundance indices, over 2879 nights on Wallis & Futuna New Caledonia. Ka Mate were most effective at killing larger (> 100 g) rats whereas Ezeset had the best capture rates smaller (< rodents. Victor mouse caught rodents up to 50 g, but no more efficient than traps. Proportions live captures similar traps, mass threshold in was much lower that non-target habitats free land crabs. developed rodent index standardise results different systems.
