摘要: Gene regulation by tetracyclines has become a widely-used tool to study gene functions in pro- and eukaryotes. This regulatory system originates from Gram-negative bacteria, which it fine-tunes expression of tetracycline-specific export protein mediating resistance against this antibiotic. review attempts describe briefly the selective pressures governing evolution tetracycline regulation, have led unique properties underlying its success manifold applications. After discussing basic mechanisms we will present large variety designed alterations activities contributed still growing tool-box components available for adjusting different organisms or tissues. Finally, provide an overview various experimental setups eukaryotes, touch upon some highlights discovered use tetracycline-dependent regulation.
