摘要: This study reports properties of a class biodegradable polyesters based on citric acid and glycerin, both which are safe ingredients in food, their usefulness for drug control release applications. Transparent thin films poly(glycerin citrate) (PGC) prepared by condensation polymerization were characterized dynamic mechanical analysis, tensile testing, FTIR spectroscopy. Depending the acid-to-glycerin molar ratios, crosslinked could have glass transition temperatures varying from 30 to 81°C as shown analysis. The ductile PGC more prone hydrolytic degradation than poly(lactic acid). controlled evaluated permeation an exemplary theophylline. diffusion theophylline film follows Super Case II mechanism, but modified with PEG4000, approximately mechanism (near zero-order mechanism). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
