摘要: Drastic decreases in the thermal conductivity upon deformation similar to those reported by Sproull, Moss, and Weinstock have been found NaCl, KCl, NaF crystals. Unexpected differences frequency dependence of phonon—defect relaxation times lead an investigation whether point defects, created during deformation, might influence phonon scattering. Studies recovery kinetics paralleling carried out on mass density changes Silverstone Pratt Vaughan et al. seemed exclude this. Experiments bent LiF further supported view Sproull that deformed alkali halides is determined coherent scattering phonons off groups dislocations.
