摘要: Objective: As a first step in planning interventions to promote exercise rural breast cancer survivors (BCS), we sought determine the preferences of BCS and identify major determinants these preferences. Methods: Self-administered mail survey population-based sample from state registry. Results: Among 483 respondents, 96% were White with mean education 13±2.5 years months since diagnosis 39.0±21.5. Only 19% reported ⩾150 min moderate vigorous physical activity per week. Although up half open various counseling options, most popular options after treatment (36%), face-to-face (47%), an specialist (40%). Rural preferred home-based (63%), unsupervised intensity (65%) that was primarily walking. The strongest preference correlates include higher specialist, environment score outdoors, more comorbidities low treatment, social support exercising friends or family, sedentary insufficient intensity, lower household income preferring supervised exercise. Conclusions: Interventions designed among are needed. Such should consider environmental aspects this population multiple based on targeted subgroups. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
