摘要: In recent years photogrammetry has become an essential tool in the study of tetrapod footprints. Morphological analyses footprints are interpretative, thus researchers should use as much information possible order to eventually provide objective conclusion. this regard, is extremely helpful avoid potential biases and better present ichnological data. We review technique several Permian Triassic studies, with considerations on: (1) ichnotaxonomy, (2) track-trackmaker correlation, (3) locomotion and/or behavior, (4) substrate induced effects (5) preservation fossil record heritage. Furthermore, based on available three-dimensional (3D) data material, we a first qualitative interpretation relative depth patterns related functional prevalence (most deeply impressed area) within identified three main groups: anamniote, captorhinomorph/parareptile tracks (medial-median prevalence), diapsid (median synapsid (median-lateral prevalence). The 3D photogrammetric models brings new light footprint record, helping understand communities throughout late Paleozoic (and end-Guadalupian end-Permian extinctions) recovery during early Mesozoic.
