摘要: Sister chromatid exchange (SCE) can be demonstrated in metaphase cells by autoradiographic techniques [1] or more recently developed staining [2]. Although the mechanism(s) and nature of alterations leading to SCE are largely unknown, there a number observations suggesting relationship between mutagenic and/or carcinogenic damage an increased rate SCEs [3]. Firstly is linear correlation induction single gene mutation for many chemical agents, both these events show similar spontaneous occurrence over entire genome [4]. Secondly, great mutagens carcinogens have been shown induce SCEs, some cases at very low concentrations, various mammalian cellsin vitro as well asin vivo [5, 6].
