摘要: The experiments reported in this study constitute a preliminary investigation into the possible hypotensive effect of Jamaican Cho-Cho (Sechium edule). Experiments were conducted random and blind fashion on two sub species Sechium edule. Both pulp peel examined for activity. Water-soluble extracts prepared from these components fruit injected anaesthetised rats. Various cardiovascular parameters measured including heart rate, mean arterial pressure (MAP) several ECG intervals. We report that all tested produced fall blood with little change Extract B least rate MAP approximately 23 mmHg. Changes appeared to be minimal as an ED25 value could only determined extract A, ED10 values not evaluated C D. mechanism(s) by which produce their effects experiments. However, it appears involve direct cardiac tissue. This conclusion is based finding took minimum 10 15 seconds action manifest post bolus. Future will aimed at delineating involved decreasing MAP.
