摘要: The mammalian olfactory bulb (OB) has all the features of a whole brain but in more reduced space: neuronal lamination, sensory inputs, afferences, or efferences to other centers central nervous system, contribution new neural elements. Therefore, it is widely considered as “a inside brain.” Although this rostral region same origin and general layering cerebral cortices, some distinctive make very profitable experimentation neurobiology: inputs are driven directly on its surface, main output can be accessed anatomically, elements appear throughout adult life. These three morphological characteristics have been manipulated analyze further response OB. present review offers outlook into consequences such anatomy, connectivity neurochemistry OB after (a) deprivation, mainly by naris occlusion; (b) deinnervation means epithelium damage, nerve interruption, even tract disruption; (c) removal principal neurons OB; (d) management arrival newborn interneurons from migratory stream. experiments were performed using surgical chemical methods, also analysis genetic models, whose components missing, colorless mismatching within wild-type scenario odor processing.
