摘要: Refinement of lamellar spacing down to a few nano-meters in pearlitic steels offers unique combination high strength and toughness. The present work pertains the tribological response nano-structured with varying lamellae under repeated frictional sliding using conical diamond tip. wear has been quantified through friction, volume groove formed by indenter deformation-induced structural changes number passes sliding. Results indicate that initial microstructure mechanical properties have profound impact on resistance since these factors also govern microstructural adaptability finest pearlite shows least volume, lowest friction coefficient smallest deformation-affected zone.
