摘要: Abstract Background Surgical closure of secundum atrial septal defect (ASD) is a standard procedure associated with very low mortality and morbidity. We evaluated outcomes in the era catheter-based interventional minimally invasive techniques. Methods From May 1996, February 2002, 177 patients body weight more than 30 kg underwent surgical ASD closure. A right lateral minithoracotomy (LMT) was used 122 conventional approach, 55. Diagnoses included 106 LMT group 40 group, sinus venosus 13 each status post 3 2 patients, respectively. Mean age 37 ± 17 years 43 20 years, mean 66 70 16 kg, In femoral cannulation performed for cardiopulmonary bypass. Results Direct carried out 67.2% 58.2% those group. The remaining had pericardial patch There one death: patient who required explantation an Amplatzer device because infection died postoperatively. Average stay intensive care unit 1.2 0.5 days. Two reoperation residual after direct closure; 1 sustained temporary neurological deficit that resolved completely. On postoperative echocardiography, minimal shunt seen only patients. All were good clinical condition improved functional at discharge from hospital. Conclusions Secundum by has become as safe operation technique achieves perioperative results satisfactory long-term outcomes. Thus attractive option are not suitable using devices.
