摘要: Two different types of gap junction proteins, β1- and β2-connexin, were expressed in insect cells, either singly or together, using infection with recombinant baculovirus. Membrane fractions enriched proteins isolated, connexons (hemichannels) solubilized detergent. These then run out on a gel filtration column which was capable partially separating the two homomeric connexons. It found that from cells co-infected both baculovirus ran together this column, whereas infected separately mixed before solubilization did not, suggesting connexin are assembled into heteromeric hemichannels.
