摘要: Ibuprofen (IBU) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic drug used widely in medicine. The present study evaluated the effects of IBU on lipid peroxidation (LPO), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), and reduced (GSH) Rattus norvegicus. Sixty male albino rats were divided into four groups (A, B, C, D), further sub-divided three sub-groups containing five rats. Rats D orally given standard therapeutic dose equivalents 10, 20, 30 mg/kg respectively for 21 days allowed to recover 7 days. Group A which served as control was not administered any form but equal volume distilled water. results indicate that LPO, SOD, CAT activities all significantly increased compared with control. GSH GPx values however did follow consistent pattern. After 7-day withdrawal from drug, LPO returned values. indicates alters oxidative parameters Further studies pharmacokinetics its metabolites different species are needed.
