摘要: Traumatic cervical spine injuries can result in severe disability or death unless promptly diagnosed and treated. Advanced trauma life support guidelines recommend that three-view X-rays should be obtained routinely all blunt patients. In this retrospective study, we evaluated whether are indeed necessary such The study comprised those patients who were conscious, fully orientated, co-operative non-intoxicated. Among the 303 seen at our emergency department between January December 1993, a total of 267 had well-written charts met inclusion criteria. Thirteen (5%) complained neck pain tenderness on initial examination found to harbour injuries. Of sustaining injuries, three (23%) disclosed abnormal neurological findings. On other hand, none without have injury. We conclude and/or area valid criteria with regard timely diagnosis routine may unnecessary for co-operative, non-intoxicated, exhibit no deficits do not tenderness.
