摘要: Objectives Infections and colonisations with multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) increasingly affect different types of healthcare facilities worldwide. So far, little is known about additional costs attributable to MDROs outside hospitals. The aim this study was analysis the economic burden bacteria in nursing homes Germany. Setting cost performed from a microeconomic perspective facilities. Study took place six long-term care north-eastern Participants Data 71 residents positive MDRO status were included. Primary secondary outcome measures analysed surveillance data 2011 2013. It supplemented by an empirical determine on staff capacity materials consumption. Results 11 793 days pathogen diagnosis could be included analysis. On average, 11.8 (SD±6.3) cases occurred per home. Mean duration case 163.3 days (SD±97.1). annual MDRO-related varied between €2449.72 €153 263.74 average €12 682.23 case. Main drivers (€43.95 day €7177.04 case) isolation (€24.70 €4033.51 case). Conclusions importance confirmed. specific sector collected for first time. Knowledge will enable assess efficiency hygiene intervention future.
