摘要: Hippocampal replay is thought to be essential for the consolidation of event memories in hippocampal-neocortical networks. Replay present during both sleep and waking behavior, but although involves reactivation stored representations absence specific sensory inputs, awake depend on input from current environment. Here, we show that are reactivated replay. We found frequent sequences rat hippocampal place cells a previous experience. This spatially remote was as common local environment more robust when had recently been motion than extended periods quiescence. Our results indicate hippocampus consistently replays past experiences brief pauses suggesting role memory retrieval.
