摘要: Abstract The major constituents of the oils from roots and rhizomes Valeriana wallichii DC were separated characterized by GC, GC/MS NMR (1H- 13C-). chemical compositions show two chemotypes within wallichii. type-I was presence maaliol (64.3%), viridiflorol (7.2%) sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (19.2%). type-II contained patchouli alcohol (40.2%), (5.2%), 8-acetoxy-patchouli (4.5%) (34.5%). Viridiflorol have been isolated V. for first time. Since is being commercially used even today in Nepal India as a substitute officinalis, sharp differences among materials necessitates their identification before commercial exploitation phytomedicines flavor chemicals.
