摘要: In an investigation of the utilization inorganic nitrogen by Chlorella, Reisner et al (17) measured changes in quantities uncombined amino acids which occurred after adding nitrate or ammonia to nitrogen-starved cells. Adding produced more rapid and striking amounts than nitrate. shortest period treatment (15 min) marked increases glutamine alanine a small increase serine were observed. To learn about short-term assimilation following investigations w-ere carried out: A: The concentration several Chlorella was 2 15 minutes ammonium chloride; B: effects inhibitors on anmino acids, ammonia, determined; C: Enzymes that might be involved studied; D: amount N15 non-protein alanine, glutamiiine, glutamate administering N15H4NO3 for 1 5 minute intervals; E: pyruvate a-ketoglutarate determined before Chlorella; F: effect plus quantity examined.
