摘要: Background: It has been suggested that fundic mobilization in Nissen fundoplication decreases adverse postoperative symptoms and increases the durability of wrap. There are no previous randomized, prospection long-term studies assessing this. This study addresses question. Methods: Fifty consecutive patients were randomized to undergo open Nissen–Rossetti with total (n = 26) or an identical procedure without 24). After a median 36 (range 6–53) months 49 had endoscopy personal interview. Results: Oesophagitis was cured 20 21 who 18 19 did not. defective wrap observed five recurrent reflux six those compared two one respectively not (P significant). Recurrent sliding hiatal hernia nine mobilized fundus 0·02). significant difference incidence new-onset dysphagia, subjective belching ability, amount flatus bloating between groups. Conclusion: Fundic give any apparent advantage regarding effects. Instead, it associated higher rate hernia. © 1999 British Journal Surgery Society Ltd
