摘要: Recent reports show that central beta-endorphin (1-31) injection augments the volitional intake of alcohol. Correspondingly, alcohol drinking stimulates release from hypothalamus rat. Glycyl-l-glutamine (Gly-Gln) is produced in beta-endorphin-containing neurons and co-released with beta-endorphin(1-31) other processing products. Because Gly-Gln apparently an endogenous antagonist several systems, present study was designed to investigate hypothesis injected i.c.v. would alter voluntary genetic, high-alcohol-preferring P After a guide tube implanted stereotaxically above lateral cerebral ventricle, rats were offered 3-30% over 10 days, then given their maximally preferred concentration presence water for remainder experiment. or artificial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) vehicle dose 100 nmol 3 consecutive which followed by 7-day postinjection interval. suppressed significantly intakes terms both g/kg proportion total fluid. During continued be suppressed, whereas neither daily food nor body weights changed. The results are consistent concept functional antagonism role mediating certain functions. These demonstrate consumption direct intracerebral application this unique peptide.
