摘要: Many genes governed by thyroid hormone (T3) lack binding sites for its receptor (TR) and are thought to be post-transcriptionally regulated T3. Here we demonstrate that the HuD gene, which encodes a neurone-specific protein binds mRNA modulates stability, is RNA expression were strongly up-regulated in specific areas of hypothyroid rat brain, reduced T3 PC12 mouse N2a cells containing appropriate TR levels. Furthermore, inhibited transcription run-on assays. Finally, bound with high affinity two sequences acetylcholinesterase mRNA, ectopic increased abundance cells. This first report gene encoding an stability regulator under control. The results suggest may mediate some effects altering half-life mRNAs other genes.
