ANALYTICAL REPRESENTATION OF IZMEM MODEL FOR NEAR-REAL TIME PREDICTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WEATHER

摘要: Abstract In this study we describe an analytical representation of the IZMIRAN Electrodynamic Model (IZMEM) that allows easy calculation a number ionospheric parameters for any point above corrected geomagnetic latitude φ ⩾ 57° over Northern and Southern polar regions all seasons year. These are distributions electric potentials, fields, field-aligned currents, horizontal ion drift velocities, Joule heating rate, ground magnetic disturbances. Comparisons modeling results with Heppner–Maynard Foster convection models as well various satellite observations also presented discussed. A simple, inexpensive scheme is suggested specifications forecast patterns solely from interplanetary made at Lagrangian L1 upstream in solar wind. © 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
