摘要: Objectives: To study the effects of estrogen on changes in cholesterol esterification induced by native and modified low density lipoprotein (LDL) macrophages. Design methods: Human monocyte-derived macrophages (HMDM) were used, influence presence 17β estradiol short term, during maturation cells, from (nLDL), acetylated (acLDL) oxidized (oxLDL) LDL was determined. Results: In short-term (6 h), (1.5 × 10−6M) did not affect acLDL or oxLDL, but with (nLDL) a 1.5-fold increase observed. contrast, long-term exposure HMDM to 17β-estradiol 10−9M - 1.5 10−5M) decreased oxLDL acLDL, nLDL. Conclusions: These results suggest that both time concentration used its interaction between LDL, thus macrophage foam cell formation.
