摘要: Direct metal-liganded bioactive coordination complexes are known to be sensitive stimuli such as pH, light, ion activation, or redox cues. This results in the controlled release of bioactive(s). Compared other drug delivery strategies based on metal complexation, this type negates a multi-step loading methodology and offers customized physiochemical properties through judicious choice modulating ancillary ligands. Bioactive depends simple dissociative kinetics. Nonetheless, there challenges encountered when translating pure chemistry into biological physiological landscape. The stability metal–bioactive complex milieu may compromised, disrupting stimuli-responsive mechanism, with premature bioactive. Research has therefore progressed incorporation bioactives established overcome these limitations. review will highlight critically assess current research interventions order predict direction that pharmaceutical scientists could pursue arrive at tailored effective carriers for release.
