摘要: Background: Global gene expression profiling can provide insight into the underlying pathophysiology of disease processes. Kawasaki (KD) is an acute, self-limited vasculitis whose etiology remains unknown. Although clinical illness shares certain features with other pediatric infectious diseases, occurrence coronary artery aneurysms in 25% untreated patients unique to KD. Methods: To gain further molecular mechanisms KD, we investigated acute and convalescent whole blood transcriptional profiles 146 KD subjects compared them confirmed bacterial or viral infection, healthy control children. We also transcript abundance different intravenous immunoglobulin treatment responses outcomes. Results: The overwhelming signature for involved signaling pathways innate immune system. Comparison infections highlighted importance cell motility including paxillin, relaxin, actin, integrins, matrix metalloproteinases. Most importantly, IL1β pathway was identified as a potential therapeutic target. Conclusion: Our study revealed IL-1 prominent immunity migration phase illness.
