摘要: Over the past 250 years-since Industrial Revolution accelerated process of pollutant emission, which, until then, had been limited to domestic use fuels (mineral and vegetal) intermittent volcanic emissions-air pollution has present in various scenarios. Today, approximately 50% people world live cities urban areas are exposed progressively higher levels air pollutants. This is a non-systematic review on different types sources pollutants, as well respiratory effects attributed exposure such contaminants. Aggravation symptoms disease, together with increases demand for emergency treatment, number hospitalizations, deaths, can be particulate gaseous emitted by sources. Chronic pollutants not only causes decompensation pre-existing diseases but also new cases asthma, COPD, lung cancer, even rural areas. Air now rival tobacco smoke leading risk factor these diseases. We hope that we impress upon pulmonologists clinicians relevance investigating recognizing this should taken into account adoption best practices control acute maintenance treatment between exacerbations.
